Physical Operators
• They play an essential role in monitoring and controlling the electricity and gas movements generated by the Gaselys physical trading business.
• They notify to Hub and Transport System Operators with the gas and electricity volumes to be exchanged and conveyed.
• They control the balances between incoming and outgoing network volumes, and between hub purchases and sales. And they intervene to correct discrepancies and avoid penalties.
• They analyse and develop the in-house expertise needed for understanding European transport rules, differences in network handling practices (time-basis, balancing, allocations, measurements, etc.), and mechanisms for information exchange with operators.
• They assist traders and marketers in the preparation and the assessment of physical transactions, especially on points such as calculation of transport costs, capacity availability and acquisition techniques, transport specific rules, and contractual requirements.
• They take part in auctions and other capacity reservation mechanisms compliant with gas and power trading desks directives. And they assist traders in the purchase and sale of capacity on secondary markets.
• The logistics function also provides information feedback for Gaselys support functions: legal specialists, on transport contracts and other regulatory requirements; back-office, on transport costs, capacity invoices, payment methods, etc.; market risk specialists, on factoring in capacity positions for evaluation of operational risk; credit risk specialists, on estimation of solvability of transport counterparties (TSOs, etc.); and IT teams, on development of systems to ensure proper, accurate and reliable business operation.
